Grace and Nathan focus for their wedding celebrations was to make it ‘all about family.’ Both are from big families and they wanted everyone to share their joy, but also to have a lovely weekend away altogether. Spicers Clovelly Estate provided that unique property that was just perfect for their wedding celebrations, they had the opportunity to have exclusive use of the French inspired hinterland estate, and were able to plan a weekend of festivities that included all of their family and friends. Elegant Simplicity became their wedding words – both Grace and Nathan were wanting a simple but beautiful wedding, and because the venue is already so beautifully appointed they concentrated on foliage and flowers to be the highlighted style addition for their gorgeous day. With 120 guests Grace and Nathan chose to host their reception in a stunning clear marquee, making sure that all of their guests could still enjoy the picturesque views, landscaped gardens and the romantic fairy lights from above.
A formal wedding ceremony was held at the Little White Wedding Church in Maleny, the vintage chapel with it’s elegant interior worked perfectly with the brief for their day, and both Grace and Nathan feel in love with the picturesque property that the church is situated on with the gardens and greenery surrounding the church adding a stunning backdrop to family photos.
Flowers were the highlight for Grace and Nathan and to flow with their want for simplistic elegance, they chose luscious greenery garlands with accents of sage grey Australian foliage and pops of antique blooms to run down the length of their long feasting tables, and a large floral hanging installation was created above the bridal table to highlight their individual space. Burgundy, antique pink ivory and white with hints of navy collaborated with rustic inspired foliage accents to create a gorgeous winter wedding concept.
One of their favourite memories was taking a moment together during the reception and just watching both families and their friends laughing together and having a great time. ‘It was so wonderful to see so many people rarely sitting down and going between tables to meet new people or old friends. We truly loved seeing our families come together and get along and feel so happy that everyone had such a wonderful time! The whole day felt like a dream and we couldn’t have been happier.’
