Q and A with Matt Rowe Photography | mattrowephotography.com.au
Tell us your story as a photographer, your journey, your experience and what excites you to capture moments of love.
After starting professionally as a portrait and commercial photographer, my journey as a wedding photographer started with photographing a friends wedding after which I was hooked! I love being given the chance to capture moments for couples that will last a life time and thrive off the excitement from couples upon seeing an image on the camera.
What makes your images so uniquely yours?
Most couples are drawn to my work by the way I incorporate the whole scene into the image and my attention to detail for composition, lighting and a lot of fun!
In 5 words provide us with a summary of your photography style.
Fun, Natural, Timeless, Landscape, Real
What is your process with clients from enquiry stage to booking and of course on the day stuff?
I always meet couples in my Studio after the initial enquiry.
My goal is to get to know their story and find out about their plans for the big day. I offer help with timing, locations and referrals for other wedding vendors.
Often the most amazing image is captured when the couple don’t even realise, what are your tips for couples who are feeling a little uncomfortable to be in front of the lens?
The most important thing for couples is to be themselves and in the moment, listen to direction from your photographer but be spontaneous and have fun!
Favourite wedding location and why?
Sunshine Coast Hinterland or any natural environment.
What inspires you when photographing weddings?
When all the elements for an amazing photo come together;
Light, composition and emotion.
Should you have a shoot list – Yes or No?
Other than family photos I wouldn’t recommend a shot list, If you book an experienced photographer they will know what works and have there own go to shots.
Allow your photographer creative freedom and you will cherish your unique photos forever .
Funniest captured photo wedding moment?
When I received minute long head massage from a very friendly horse whilst continuing to shoot the couple laughing hysterically.
