Requelle and Mark had a very emotional and personal journey in the lead up to their engagement. Engaged in June 2018, and this joyous occasion came just shortly after Mark was confirmed as being in remission after the twelve month journey fighting leukaemia. The happiness and elation of receiving that news marked the beginning of their wedding planning journey. Requelle and Mark wanted an intimate and loving affair and chose to celebrate their union at Spicers Clovelly Estate with a divine wedding concept that accented their vision for a ‘bohemian luxe’ affair, fine food, wonderful wine, and being surrounded by friends and family who gathered to celebrate their love and the emotional journey they had been on over the past couple of years.
Requelle and Mark both loved the idea of a hinterland wedding and had a few requirements on their wish list while hunting for their venue– it had to be an all-inclusive venue, with a great professional team, with good food, fabulous wine and of course and amazing space to share their celebration. Spicers Clovelly Estate was the first venue they visited, and according to Requelle and Mark they both fell in love with the property straight away, and it ticked every single one of their wedding boxes!
Bohemian inspired florals enhanced their styling elements, with Mondo Floral Designs creating a romantic rambling floral concept with Bohemian accents and touches of Pampas grass. A rich colour palette that included plum, burgundy, and darker crimson tones featured throughout the beautiful blooms, with textural rustic inspired foliage accents and hints of earthy pink partnering to create a sophisticated contemporary luxe floralscape.
A ceremony under the beautiful Jacaranda tree, with florals adorning a timber canopy, added an organic natural touch to their day. Dan Ford facilitated their personalised and heartfelt ceremony on the grassy plateau. The reception was held on the lower library deck space, with foliage and textural botanicals high above on the chandeliers, and antique brass vase designs with blooms scattered down the long dining tables, the concept added texture and colour to the beautiful celebration space.
Requelle and Mark were all about showing their personal touches and adding their own unique elements to their day.
From their hand written personal vows, neon lights, and the design of the wedding party suits, via Mark, their day also included moments of light hearted reflection, with the ‘Superman’ theme song playing as they walked back down the aisle and they both performed a fully choreographed first dance to the Greatest Showman’s ‘A Million Dreams’.
Requelle and Mark were clearly in love, and very proud and ever so grateful for what they had accomplished, their journey and their ability to turn their wedding dreams into a reality. According to these two lovebirds…. it really was the best day of their lives.
